Release notes: version 0.2.0
In this major release, we have two big new features:
- Item sharing: You can now share your items with your friends and colleagues by using the ‘share’ icon in the toolbar! Shared items can only be read, not edited, by other people. If you enable sharing for an item, you will be given a unique link with which even people who don’t have a Leo account can view an item’s images and transcripts.
- Built-in support: By clicking on the chat icon in the bottom-left corner, you can now chat to AI support if you have any issues or suggestions, and escalate your query to me and Jon if the bot can’t help you.
We have also fixed a number of issues:
- We’ve addresed the ‘ghost hits’ issue, where false positive transcript matches appeared during search (flagged by users here, here and here)
- Navigation breadcrumbs are now displayed both in the dashboard for navigating through lists, and the item view for navigating through your images (flagged here, here and here)
- Hitting save in the transcript/annotation editor now brings up a success notification to make it clear that it has succeeded (flagged here)
- The ‘has annotation’ icon next to an image now has a tooltip to explain its meaning (flagged here)
- Checked images are no longer deselected when you navigate to another image (flagged here)
- When opening a document at a particular image, the image list now automatically scrolls to the right place to help with navigation (flagged here)
- Background highlighting in the image list is no longer used for selected images, only for the currently open image (flagged here)
- An option to ‘delete all images’ has been added to the ‘add item’ modal (flagged here)
- An easy-access ‘replace image’ button has been added when a upload fails and the image needs to be reselected (flagged here).
- Up/down keyboard arrows no longer navigate through images when your cursor is inside a text editor or text box (flagged here)
- Tiny images that are often embedded in PDFs are no longer extracted when PDFs are uploaded
- Transcription jobs are now more robust and less likely to intermittently fail (credits used for failed jobs, as before, automatically reimbursed)
- When you hover over truncated text in Leo, a tooltip now shows the full text without UI errors.
- A few buttons with text have been with just icons to reduce visual clutter, and tooltips have been added to all of these (so if you hover over an icon button, it will tell you what it is)
- Visual clutter has also been reduced by hiding most text editor controls, which can now be accessed in a dropdown menu
- An issue has been fixed in which including certain punctuation marks in search terms could lead to an error
