To know what file one is viewing, one looks at the sidebar with the list of images. But if one has selected multiple images, one can’t tell which of the images one is viewing. (This will be a bigger problem if, as I hope, you change the selection function so that one can save a list of checked images as one views them.)
It is possible, if you scroll to the bottom of the metadata panel, to see the file name of the image that you are viewing. But I realise this is clunky and not very intuitive.
We’re planning to make it so that the image list is automatically scrolled, in the correct position, and highlighting the currently selected image, when navigating to that page for the first time. See here. It’d probably also make sense to have a button, to return to the currently selected image, in case they scrolled away during that session. Would this fix the issue that you describe?
