Creating list and sublist levels

I’m surprised no one has mentioned it so far, but I’d like to see sublists (or subfolders), and the ability to drag those subfolders in and out of folders. It matters to me because I’d like to be able to organize lists (or folders) by topic, and then devote the subfolders to particular collections of sources. I think any kind of organization system should have levels.

If this is implemented , I wonder if calling the lists “folders” would make more sense, since usually lists don’t contain other lists.

It’s already possible to create sublists! Just hover over a list and press “…” on the right side of a list and you’ll see an option to “Add sublist”. If you enter a list on the main dashboard view, you’ll see an option to “Display items in sublists”. As noted in the release notes for v0.1.6:

  • This enables the user to choose whether to treat lists as folders (where items in sublists do not appear in the parent list) or recursive containers (where items in sublists do appear recursively within the parent list, allowing a unified display of all nested items)

That said, the drag-and drop mechanics for reordering lists currently don’t allow users to change the hierarchy of lists (they can only be reordered within a singl level, rather than across them). This is something we plan to amend soon.

The first time I created lists it put the new list title under the previous title-keeping them in the correct order in which I created them and wanted them. But the other times I created lists, Leo put the new list above the previous title, and I had to go back and move them around. Is there a way to control this?

This was switched around in the last release - new lists now appear at the top, which is consistent with the reverse chronological order of items.
