Ability to add notes to metadata for collections

Hi all,

This is a small point, and probably a very quick one to fix.

It would be really helpful to have an extra category to the metadata for collections which is just for ‘notes’.

As an example of how this would have been helpful for me, I have a collection that I called up from the British Library in paper form, but what was actually given to me was a microfilm version of the papers with a different, corresponding archival reference. It would have been really helpful to have been able to record in the notes what the separate reference was, and to record as a reminder for myself that I actually had it delivered as microfilm.

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

Anna

Hi Anna, thank you for this! We’re currently working on overhauling the annotation system so that it’ll work work more like Markup in Word. The plan is to include a “global” notes feature so that you can add a note for the item as a whole. It’s good to know that this is a feature you would use.

As a workaround for my own workflow, I tend to use the “Annotations” section on the first image for any notes that refer to the item in general. You could try that if there were things you wanted to jot down in the interim
