Version 0.4.3 released

Release notes: version 0.4.3

Major changes

  • A new look for Leo. A left rail runs down every screen, with Folders, Recent, Trash and Settings beside your documents, and Back, Details, Images and Search inside a document. Buttons, menus, chips and switches now look and behave the same everywhere.
  • The API is out of beta. It is open on the Standard plan with Read-only access, on Scholar with Full access and on Professional with Advanced access. Make a key in Settings › API.

Your documents

  • The inspector. Click a document to see its details, folders and images beside the list, with Open, Preview and Transcribe close at hand. Select several documents to transcribe, export or add them to a folder at once, or mix in folders to move them together.
  • Preview. Preview shows an image and its tabs in the inspector, with a strip of thumbnails to step through the document. ⤢ opens the document at that image.
  • Drag to select. Drag across the dashboard to select documents and folders, and folders now join ⌘, ⇧ and Select all. One click selects a folder, and a double-click opens it.

Inside a document

  • Four layouts. Choose Split, Tiled, Canvas or Anchored from the layout menu. Split is the default.
  • Tab windows. In Canvas and Anchored, tabs open in windows of their own, up to four, and they snap into place against edges and halves.
  • Crop keeps your view. Zoom with the wheel or a pinch while you crop, and after Save as new or Replace the result sits where the frame was.

Search

  • Search in. The scope menu in the search bar now offers your recent folders and Choose a folder.

Trash

  • Deleted items go to Trash for 30 days. Documents, images, folders and tabs can be restored from Trash in the left rail, or dragged back out of it.
  • Drag into Trash. Drop documents, folders or images on Trash to delete them. Empty Trash and Delete permanently are in its right-click menus.

Settings and plans

  • Settings in one place. Plan, Credits, Token limits, Billing, Invoices, Default models, Appearance, Privacy and cookies, Profile and security, API, Webhooks and Connected apps all sit under Settings in the left rail.
  • Your credits and invoices in full. Credits lists every change to your balance, and Invoices shows each invoice in Leo. Both download as CSV.
  • Token limits replace fair use. Settings › Token limits shows how much of this period’s limit you’ve used, by use and by model, with every run listed.
  • Choose the model for transformations and metadata. Pick it in Settings › Default models, where each model shows about how many images a month it can transform on your plan. Claude Haiku 5.5 is the new default, and a lighter model makes your token limit go further.
  • Custom transformations on the Standard plan. Writing your own prompt was a Scholar feature, and it now comes with every paid plan.
  • Transformations need a paid plan. The Free plan no longer includes trial transformations, and Settings › Plan describes it as “Basic features only”.

The Leo API and connected apps

  • Connect Claude and ChatGPT. Add https://api.tryleo.ai/mcp as a connector and sign in with your Leo account, with no key to copy. On Standard a connected app can read and search, and from Scholar it can also transcribe, edit, export and share.
  • Connected apps. Settings › Connected apps lists each app you’ve allowed, what it may do and when it was last used. Revoking an app ends its access at once.
  • Changes from beta feedback. The API can now read earlier versions of a tab’s text, say who last wrote it and make whole-document annotations. Every change is listed on tryleo.ai/developers.

Minor changes

  • Click your credits in the bar to see your monthly and lifetime credits, images in storage and token limit
  • Settings › Plan compares what each plan includes for connected apps and the API
  • Type a date straight into Details › Date and press Enter to save it. Leo shows how it reads the date before it saves.
  • Search’s date filter is one field that reads any date, and a year, month or day on its own covers that whole span
  • Recent shows your 30 most recent documents, grouped by date, once you have five or more
  • Inside a folder, Back at the top of the left rail goes to the folder above
  • Dashboard tiles show transcription progress as a thin line under the cover
  • In the tab strip, only the open tab shows its name, and the others show theirs on hover
  • The Index tab’s references read as plain numbers
  • “Open at this image” is in an image’s right-click menu
  • You can upload TIFF images
  • Images and tabs can be reordered from the keyboard, and dialogs keep keyboard focus until they close
  • On a phone, a document has one bar along the bottom with Back, Details, Search, More and Transcribe
  • On a tablet, the left rail stays and its panels open over your documents
  • Shared documents and folders show visitors the new look, with Sign in and Get started in the bar
  • Large libraries load faster on the dashboard
  • tryleo.ai has new videos and a table comparing the plans

Bug fixes

  • Stopping a folder’s share no longer stops the shares you made yourself for documents inside it
  • A folder search says “and subfolders” only when the folder has subfolders
  • A credit pack’s credits are added once the payment goes through, and never twice
  • Security improvements to the app and the server
