Release notes: version 0.4.2
Major changes
- Leo API server (beta). If you allow them, other applications can now work on your Leo documents. During the beta period, the API is invitation only. To take part, choose “Ask to join the beta” in Account settings › Developers.
- Connect Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other AI tools. The same tools are on Leo’s MCP server, so an AI assistant can use your archive directly.
- Credits work as they do in the app. Transcribing through the API spends credits, and transformations count toward fair use.
- Developer documentation. You can find documentation for the API, the MCP server, keys, limits and plans, with a full reference for every request, here: Leo | Developers
Minor changes
- Without and phrase filters are chips. Excluded words and quoted phrases now sit in the chip row with your other filters, and Clear filters removes them too.
- Searching a folder includes its subfolders. Ticking a folder ticks its subfolders, and unticking one of them shows it as “Not in folder”.
- Custom transformations start empty. The prompt box is blank, and Transform stays greyed out until you write one.
Bug fixes
- Sorting by date now places approximate dates such as “c. 1545” by their year, instead of listing them apart from the rest
- A renamed document is now found in search under its new title
- Documents with more than 1,000 images now export, duplicate and transcribe in full
- The filter count on the dashboard now shows the number of documents before you apply any filter
- On touch-screen devices, lifting your finger after a long press no longer chooses the menu option under it
- The Save button’s hover is visible again in the light theme
- Security improvements to the app and the server
