Version 0.2.2 released

Release notes: version 0.2.2

In this release, we fixed a number of minor issues:

  • Export UI: Previously, the image thumbnails in the ‘export’ modal only displayed first 68 images due to a responsiveness issue. This has been addressed in the latest release.
  • ‘View this item/image’: To help new users navigate the UI, ‘View this item’ and ‘View this image’ options have been added to the dropdown menus for items and images respectively. These buttons are an alternative to clicking twice on the item/image.
  • ‘Save’ icon: The ‘save’ icon on the transcript/annotation text editor has been moved to the HTML toolbar to better make use of space.
  • PDF size limit: The 50MB image limit was erroneously applied to PDF files. Now PDFs have no limit, but each individual images extracted must be below 50MB.
  • Date placeholder: The “YYYY-MM-DD” placeholder in the date metadata field is now hidden unless the field is actively selected.
  • Infinite toast: Previously there was an issue in which an infinite toast appeared if you opened an item via URL (or refreshed the page) in the item view with the metadata panel closed. This has now been fixed.
  • Window/tab title: The browser tab/window title for items and shared document now displays the start of the title of the item where possible, for a better navigation experience when you have multiple tabs open.
  • Social previews: When sharing links to shared items on e.g. social media platforms, the URL preview text now shows the item title and part of the transcription where possible.
  • ‘Remove from list’ button: The ‘Remove from list’ button was not functioning correctly, always saying “One or more selected items is a member of a sublist, rather than this list” even when that wasn’t true. This has now been fixed.
  • Text editor issues: An issue has been addressed in which the transcript/annotation text editor resets after each image finishes uploading, which led to recently written text being deleted and the cursor being moved to the bottom of the panel.
  • Image dropdown menu issues: Previously, accessing the image dropdown menu (by clicking on the ellipsis icon) on an image other than the one currently selected would select that image. Now it allows you to open this menu without changing the image selection. Relatedly, it’s now possible to access this menu for the currently selected image in the dashboard view without being taken to the item view.
