Two buttons--can be larger or more pronounced?

I am a very technologically dumb person, and whatever device/function I use, I tend to go to the most simple and straightforward path and disregard all the other functions. This is most evident when I use microwaves–I only ever use “add 30 seconds.”

Therefore, when I use Leo, I have only used “New Item” and “Export.” Nothing else. I wonder if there are ways to make them more standing-out in the entire UI? Two gigantic buttons or something like that? Just throwing my thoughts out there.

My apologies for being so non-adventurous when it comes to the wonderful functions that Leo offers. But since this is a test-run, I figured that it would probably be helpful if I just embodied my tech-dummy self, as I am sure there are many historians out there who are like this (talking from personal experience helping senior faculty with Zoom during Covid). Leo is already doing a great job with this aspect, and I am just giving some feedback based on my dummy way of using it. Thank you!

This is very helpful feedback! I also take the path of least resistance with kitchen appliances and undoubtedly it’s true that most of our users will do the same with Leo. We’ll have a think about how to do this. Currently the “Transcribe” button is the most bold and beautiful, but perhaps there should be a second level of emphasis for the more quotidian “New item” and “Export” functions. There will be more buttons coming soon so it’s a good moment to think about how to make the core functionality more intuitive for our users.

We’re also planning on adding onboarding flows/ a welcome tour within the app that’ll explain how everything works to new users (probably with a third-party service like Appcues) so there’ll be arrows and dialog boxes explaining exactly what to do.
