Spanish transcription switching languages

I noticed that sometimes the transcription of my documents changes language either for a single word or for a few words. It’s happening both in shorthand, so for example “inq” is transcribed as Inq[uisition] instead of Inquisición, and in complete words- I had a couple of instances where for some reason spanish words were transcribed as latin words (that did not even seem very similar).

Thanks for reporting this Maayan! It’s helpful to get any feedback like this as we begin thinking about the next model.

a possibly related thing is the autocorrect. It is helpful sometimes, when it helps identify a word I am struggling with, but can it just be a suggestion, rather than an autocorrect? Because a) I am trying for a literal transcription, so when it autocorrects to the modern form of a word, that doesn’t help, b) it isn’t always the right language!

Hm, I’m not sure I follow. Could you clarify what you mean by autocorrect?

Just as it is when typing in word, or composing a text, the word is autocompleted or autocorrected as I enter it. This seems to be primarily when I am adding words (that weren’t transcribed) rather than correcting transcriptions.
Could this be down to the browser (Safari 18.3.1)?

I think this is a macOS setting. Do the instructions here fix it?

Oh! My mistake! Thanks.
