My pdf documents are heavy. Any hope you can increase the max uploading size? I find myself having to guess how to break down the pdf documents in chunks that fit the size requirements. It is a waste of time I cannot afford, unfortunately.
Hi Serena! There’s no upload limit for PDFs. The 50MB limit applies to each individual image extracted from the PDF, which should be quite generous. If you try to upload a large PDF and wait a while, does it work?
I didn’t know that the 50MB limit was for each image so I’ve been compressing my PDFs before uploading to transcribe and the transcriptions are pretty good in spite of the lower resolution. It might be good to clarify that the limit is for the images and not the PDF because I had the same misunderstanding as Serena.
Yes, I believe the word “images” creates confusion. I suggest indicating the complete list of file types and the upload methods in the instructions, and changing the wording in “please wait a moment for Leo to extract images from this PDF” because that adds to the confusion.
It is also good to know that you can upload compressed PDFs—maybe you should add this to the instructions.
No, it doesn’t. Weird because I had no issue with smaller pdfs. I tried to uplad by browsing, and it got stuck for more than 90 minutes on the message “Please wait a moment…” There is no way to cancel the upload when started, so I had to exit Leo and start it again.

Hmmm that is weird… how big is the PDF?
It is definitely big! 376 MB
Also, I had to add “definitely” to my reply because the chat doesn’t accept a reply less than 20 characters: can this be changed?

This is the default limit for this message board platform (Dicourse). It’s supposed to deter responses which lack any meaningful content but sometimes messages like yours which concisely answer a question will be caught out. I think on balance it probably makes sense to keep it for now but will review if it comes up again.
