Ink blots/ failure to upload

It’s great how Leo has figured out how to ignore the writing on pieces of paper behind the page he’s focusing on (who is often unavoidable when snapping pictures from letter-books). In the same vein, I love that Leo does not even bother trying to transcribe blots or scribbles (see below, since I can only upload one image; but this one is pretty much identical, and did upload successfully).

On the other hand, Leo wasn’t able to upload a letter (error code 500) owing to a similar ink blot on the bottom. I took a jpeg without the inkblot and it uploaded and transcribed with no problems.

(I wonder if you can teach Leo how to interpret ink blots? That would surely be an AI breakthrough!).

Thank you for this! I think the upload issue (error code 500) may have related a blip in the connection rather than an issue with the content in the image itself. You could try uploading the same image again to see if it works.

As for interpreting the blots, do you mean something like the Rorschach test (!) or trying to transcribe the obscured text?

Just a lame Rorschach joke --sorry! I actually like the fact that Leo just ignores these (he had the same response to an inkblot in one of mynewspaper articles).
