I just did a scan of a page contained a column of integers, many of which were accompanied by a fraction (mostly “1/2”). Though the fractions were clearly legible, of a smaller font than the accompanying integer, and stacked vertically, in every case the transcription engine rendered them just as a series of numerals separated a slash and tacked them right on to the end of the previous integer. So for instance “19 1/2” consistently got rendered as “191/2”. This isn’t ideal since, obviously, it takes a fair amount of manual post-processing to get results like that corrected.
